Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Friederike Welter MAE

Professor Friederike Welter, Member of Academia Europaea (MAE), is head of the Institut für Mittelstandsforschung (IfM) in Bonn (Germany), a policy-oriented independent research institute on small business and entrepreneurship issues. She is also professor of Business Administration, esp. SME Management and Entrepreneurship, at the University of Siegen.
Professor Friederike Welter has broad experiences in applied and policy-related research on entrepreneurship and small business, much of it in an international context. She is also a member of several policy-related advisory boards for federal and state ministries and for international bodies in Germany.
Prof. Dr. Nicole Coviello PhD, DSc econ hc
Prof. Nicole Coviello is Visiting Professor at LUT Business School in Lappeenranta, Finland. She has held prior appointments in New Zealand and Canada, and earned her PhD in Marketing and International Business from the University of Auckland Business School/He Manga Tauhokohoko. She also holds an honorary doctorate from the Turku School of Economics (Finland).
Prof. Nicole Coviello’s research is cross-disciplinary, integrating entrepreneurship, international business, and marketing strategy. She has multiple publications in the top journals of all three disciplines. Nicole became a Fellow of the Academy of International Business in 2020, and she received the American Marketing Association’s ‘Significant Contributions’ Award for both Global Marketing (2022) and Entrepreneurial Marketing (2013; 2019). Nicole currently serves on multiple editorial boards and is an Editor at the Journal of Business Venturing where she manages submissions in International Entrepreneurship and the Marketing-Entrepreneurship Interface.
