About Professor Shaker A. Zahra: Professor Zahra’s prolific career in academia and groundbreaking research has made him a leading authority in corporate and international entrepreneurship, with dynamic capabilities in science and technology, global industries, and social entrepreneurship. His expertise extends to entrepreneurship in family firms operating in technology industries, making his insights invaluable to entrepreneurs, researchers, and practitioners. With an extensive academic leadership background, Shaker has been the department chair for nine years, the Holmes Center for Entrepreneurship Director for a decade, and the Academic Co-Director of Carlson Ventures Enterprises. He was also the Founding Co-Director of the Center for Integrative Leadership at the University of Minnesota.
Global Impact and Recognition: Professor Zahra’s research has appeared in leading academic journals, including all Academy of Management publications, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, and many others. He has authored or co-edited 12 books and conference proceedings, solidifying his reputation as a prolific researcher. Shaker is the 2014 Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research winner, a testament to his outstanding contributions to the field. Furthermore, he has received several grants, honors, and awards, including five honorary Ph.D. degrees from esteemed institutions worldwide, such as Stockholm School of Economics, Jonkoping International Business School (Sweden), Ghent University (Belgium), University of Messina (Italy), and Universidad de Olavide de Seville (Spain).
