We are delighted to invite submissions for participation in the ACERE 2025 paper development workshops. These provide an excellent opportunity to get developmental feedback on your research. It is possible to submit either the paper you submitted for the conference, or another paper.
Submissions are due 30 November, 2024.
Format
The ACERE Paper Development Workshops (PDWs) will provide the opportunity to receive round-table feedback from senior academics. The workshop will also include presentations and a panel session with the journal editors.
This year we will have two tracks:
Track 1: Journal specific track (ETP, SBE, JoBR, ISBJ) with 5-page paper outline submissions.
Track 2: Full paper track with 20-page submissions.

- Where: Deakin Downtown, Level 12 in Tower 2 of Collins Square, Docklands, Melbourne, Australia.

Submission format:
Track 1: 5-page paper outline for Journal-linked track, single spaced
Track 2: 20-page paper for full-paper track, single spaced (all inclusive)

Journal specific track
Round-table sessions discussing 3-4 paper will be led by journal editors:
- ETP – Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice: Marilyn Uy and Maw Der Foo
- SBE – Small Business Economics: David Audretsch and Christina Theodoraki
- JoBR – Journal of Business Research: Kim Klyver and Paul Steffens
- JSBM – Journal of Small Business Management: Allan O’Connor, Antje Fiedler, and Martie-Louise Verreynne
Selection for the PDWs will be competitive, based on quality and fit with the journal. Authors will be asked to rank their ordered preference for each journal.
Full-paper track
Round-table sessions providing feedback on 3-4 papers will be chaired by a senior academic. You will receive feedback on your paper from both the other authors and the senior academic. You will be required to provide feedback on the other papers in your session – including providing a constructive, written review ahead of the session.
Senior academics for the paper development workshops will include Prof. Dean Shepherd and Prof. Per Davidsson.*
