As a prominent figure in academia, she has dedicated her career to investigating and theorizing entrepreneurial actions to address complex social and environmental problems. Her research spans individual, organizational, and civic levels of analysis, making her a leading authority on creating positive societal impact through entrepreneurship.
Notable Achievements: Professor Bacq’s recent work has focused on strengthening communities through collective action and entrepreneurship. She is the co-author of a forthcoming book on creating civic wealth, which explores how diverse coalitions of citizens join forces to foster thriving and resilient communities. Her contributions to top-tier management and entrepreneurship journals and numerous awards attest to her significant impact in the field.
International Recognition: With a career that has spanned Europe, the United States, and South Africa, Professor Bacq’s influence extends across borders. She has been invited as a keynote speaker at prestigious conferences worldwide, including the International Social Innovation Research Conference (ISIRC), the European University Network on Entrepreneurship (ESU), and the Canadian Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
